NEW - Discovery Trekking Containment Swim Diaper

Just in time for summer, we are very pleased to be able offer this exceptional product. These washable, reusable swim diapers offer excellent fit and superb construction quality. They are crafted of an exceptionally sturdy and stretchy material that is waterproof on the outside, yet lightly flocked with absorbent fleece on the inside. Velcro side closures provide a tailored fit and allow changing without removing shoes and pants. They can be used in a variety of ways, depnding on the required usage:

• By itself, the swim diaper offers excellent fecal containment and light urine absorption.
• For more absorption, add one of our Abri-Let booster pads. This increases dry absorbency greatly, without "gelling up" in water.
• Away from the pool, they may be used in a similar fashion to plastic pants. The inner flocking and waterproof outer combine to keep leaks contained, while the snug fit prevents sagging and keeps noise to a minimum.

XL X-Plus - Going.. Going... Almost Gone...

Abena has announced the discontinuation of item #4171, the Abri-Form Extra-Large X-Plus. It has been replaced by item 43071, which is the same but with the Air-Plus cloth like outer covering. For those who prefer the original plastic style, we have purchased the remaining stock of Abena inventory and will continue to offer it until our supply is exhausted. Update 4/20/08 - Our supply of XL X-Plus with plastic backing is now gone.

This change DEOS NOT affect the other sizes of original X-Plus, only the XL.

Trip Report: Tour of the Abena factory

In summer 2005, we were invited to visit the Abena factory in Aabenraa, Denmark. We were treated to great hospitality from the people at Abena. They took great pride in showing us their factory and were kind enough to allow me to take some photos of the manufacturing line.

So, without further ado, I present to you our very own virtual tour of Abena's state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. It is an impressive place, and the level of automation and attention to detail are second to none.

I would also like to thank the many customers who have sent comments, suggestions and yes, even complaints to us over the years. We do listen to all of them and we had the opportunity to share them with Abena as well.

We are going solar!

We are pleased to report that we have purchased a 2kW solar electric system that will be has been installed on our rooftop. This system will provide pollution-free electricity to run our lights, servers and equipment for decades to come. Not only does this help reduce dependence on fossil fuels but it will also produce a dramatic reduction in our electric bills! This is one of those great occasions where business sense and environmental care can work hand-in-hand.

Update: The system is installed and works wonderfully. So far it is easily producing more power than we consume each month!
